  • I just got the Rosin Wand and it has a small button on the bottom. What is this for?
The button featured on the bottom of the new Rosin Wand is to be used as a troubleshooting mechanism. The Rosin Wand is designed to be incredibly easy to use, with no button activation necessary to pull. However, you can preheat the live rosin by holding the button as you pull, or pressing and holding the button for 3 seconds prior to use.
  • What is Rosin/Live Rosin?
Rosin refers to the cannabis plant extract. After applying heat and pressure, the desired compounds are extracted without the use of solvents or other foreign chemicals, making for a smooth and very clean product. The "Live" in Live Rosin refers to the stage in which the cannabis plant has been flash-frozen, having been harvested while the plant was still alive and at peak maturity to ensure that its freshness and natural terpenes have been preserved. The result is an extremely high quality and flavorful extract!
  • What are weed/cannabis pens?
A "weed pen" or "cannabis pen" is a vape pen handheld device, comprised of a battery with a cartridge attached that contains cannabis oils. These pens are some of the most popular ways of consuming cannabis due to its simple-to-use and discrete nature.
  • What does "solvent" and "solventless" mean in the cannabis world?
To get cannabinoids from the cannabis plant, they must be extracted. Most brands use solvents such as propane and butane to strip the terpenes from the plant. As one might imagine, using such harsh chemicals can be an aggressive method that would not only detach the terpenes, but also destroy other delicate cannabinoids in the process. Many brands still opt for this method due to its ability to result in high yields - meaning you can get quite a high reading of THC in the final product. After this process, they will either develop a product with only THC present, or re-introduce artificial terpenes to replace the natural ones that have been destroyed. The solventless route has many benefits that solvents can't get you. Solventless refers to the delicate process of extraction using only ice water, heat and pressure. Water is technically a solvent, but is considered solventless in many industries because it's much cleaner and less aggressive than other solvents such as butane and propane. By going solventless, you end up with a high concentration of THC with all other natural terpenes included. The end result is a clean, flavorful extract (known as "rosin") that is the closest representation of the plant itself.
  • What is a "heavy metal-free cartridge"?
A heavy metal-free cartridge is a specific style of cartridge that we use for our cannabis cartridges. At Treeworks, we believe it's important to consume your cannabis products as cleanly as possible; without any contaminants or potential hazards. This is why we only produce our products in a secured lab and store oils in cartridges without the use of metals.
  • What is a "solventless extract"?
A "solventless extract" is a natural cannabis extract made without the use of harsh chemicals/solvents. The resin is extracted using only water, heat and pressure.
  • What is a "live extract"?
A "live extract" is made by using only fresh-frozen whole plants (FFWP), making it the closest representation of smoking the living plant itself.
  • What is "live bubble hash"?
Also referred to as ice water extract (IWE), our bubble hash is produced by gently hand-washing frozen cannabis in ice water, separating the hash from the material. After the collecting and drying process is complete, you are left with a sand-like consistency that is ideal for adding to joints and topping bowls. Bubble hash gets its name from the way it melts and bubbles while it is consumed. Bubble hash is generally not able to be dabbed.
  • What is "live rosin badder"?
Following the cold cure process, our live hash rosin is then whipped to create a creamy, butter-like concentrate that is rich in terpenes and cannabinoids.
  • What is "live rosin jam"?
Also referred to as "rosin sauce", live rosin jam is a terpene-heavy solventless extract that uses a further heat cure to change/separate the rosin into a saucy, sugary jam that is loaded with THC(a) crystals. It has a different terpene and cannabinoid profile than our hash rosin badder.
  • How do you create your solventless live rosin products?
Our process of creating live rosin is one of the only extraction methods that is 100% chemical free. We begin by taking flower that has been flash-frozen immediately after cultivation and brought to our facility while the plant is still alive. We then give it an ice water bath, carefully extracting the terpenes and cannabinoids as to not damage their structures. After being gently filtered and dried, we then apply an intricate mechanism of heat and pressure to achieve the final, flavorful result.
  • What is a "cannabinoid"?
"Cannabinoids" are compounds that interact with our endocannabinoid system, which is a complex system in the human body that binds to cannabinoid receptors to elicit a response from our central nervous system. There are a lot of cannabinoids out there, with anywhere from 80-100 found in the cannabis plant alone! The most popular ones are THC, CBD, CBG, CBC & CBN.
  • What is "CBD" and what are its benefits?
Cannabidiol - or CBD - is the most popular non-psychoactive cannabinoid found in the cannabis plant. It may help with pain and anxiety, as well as a natural mood-booster. CBD may also help relax the muscles, which make it the ideal cannabinoid to use topically for soreness, an itch, or burn!
  • What is "CBN" and what are its benefits?
Cannabinol - or CBN - is a mildly psychoactive cannabinoid that binds to the cannabinoid receptors with more selectivity for CB2 over CB1 found in trace amounts from cannabis. CBN is mostly found in cannabis plants that is aged and stored, and is derived from the plant's main psychoactive chemical, THC.
  • What is "CBG" and what are its benefits?
Cannabigerol - or CBG - is another cannabinoid that recent studies suggest may have similar pain-relieving properties to that of the super popular CBD. Other potential benefits include increased focus, attention, reduced inflammation and more!
  • What is "CBC" and what are its benefits?
CBC goes by a few different names, including: Cannabichromene, Cannabichrome and Cannabinochromine. The most prominent research out there suggests that CBC is an anti-inflammatory, lending itself well to some topical agents. CBC is also quite abundant within the cannabis plant, which may be why many cannabis consumers claim they receive pain-relieving effects when generally consuming cannabis.
  • What is "THC"?
Tetrahydrocannabinol - or THC - is the star of the show for many cannabis consumers. As the dominant psychoactive component housed in the cannabis plant, THC is the most sought-after cannabinoid of them all. Due to it's influence on the central nervous system however, THC and subsequently cannabis as a whole has been consistently met with controversy spanning millennia. As of 2022, major strides have been made around the world and particularly in the United States in regards to legalizing medical and recreational cannabis nationwide.
  • What is "RSO"?
Rick Simpson Oil is a cannabis concentrate with a wide variety of health benefits, including the potential to fight cancer. Its name comes from its creator Rick Simpson, a former engineer from Canada who derived the concentrate and used it to successfully treat his own skin cancer. More information can be found in our blog post about Rick Simpson Oil and its history here.
  • What is the "Entourage Effect"?
The "Entourage Effect" is a term used to identify the combined effects of THC with other prominent cannabinoids found within the cannabis plant. One of our most popular products out currently - Jungle Drops - is equipped with five of the most-researched and well-known cannabinoids; CBD, CBG, CBN, CBC & THC. When these five cannabinoids are combined, they act synergistically with each other to provide a unique cannabis experience where all beneficial properties are heightened, while negative psychoactive effects are reduced.
  • What is a cannabis tincture?
A cannabis tincture is a small bottle of cannabis concentrate that contains anywhere from 30-60mL of cannabis oil (specifically as mandated here in Massachusetts. One tincture can have many servings and often contains various amounts of different cannabinoids - THC being the most prominent. Treeworks is known for high-quality cannabis tinctures, which are all produced under very specific conditions to ensure each product is as pure and potent as possible.

  • What are "terpenes"?
As a general term, terpenes refer to unsaturated hydrocarbons found naturally in plants. In the cannabis world, terpenes are visibly present on the plant as small, bulbous features sprouting from the bud. Terpenes are responsible for aroma, flavor and even color of the final product. This is how you distinguish one strain of cannabis from another.
  • What is "cannabis flower"?
Cannabis flower, also known as the "bud", "nug", or "flower", is part of the cannabis plant that is typically ground up for smoking.
  • What is "THC-V" and what are its benefits?
THC-V, also known as tetrahydrocannabivarin, is a cannabinoid found in cannabis plants. It is structurally similar to THC, but it produces different effects. THC-V is known for its potential to suppress appetite and aid in weight loss. It may also have potential therapeutic benefits for conditions such as diabetes, anxiety, and epilepsy. Some studies have also suggested that THC-V may have neuroprotective properties and help reduce inflammation.
  • What is "THC-A" and what are its benefits?
THC-A is a non-psychoactive cannabinoid found in cannabis plants. It is the precursor to THC (tetrahydrocannabinol), the psychoactive compound that gets you "high." When heated, THC-A is converted into THC, which is why smoking or vaporizing cannabis produces a psychoactive effect. While THC is known for its ability to induce a euphoric high, THC-A has its own unique benefits. It has been shown to have anti-inflammatory, neuroprotective, and anti-nausea properties. It may also help with pain relief, muscle spasms, and insomnia. Some people prefer using THC-A over THC because it doesn't produce the same psychoactive effects, making it a good option for those who want the medicinal benefits of cannabis without feeling "high." THC-A can be found in Pet Drops.
